Racist Commenters Beware: Your words might show up in your own backyard

This year, Criola launched a campaign labeled, "Virtual racism, real consequences," which pulls racially bigoted comments from the internet and places them on billboards in the neighborhoods where the commenters live. The point is not to expose anyone, but to educate people that their words have a real impact.

Anonymous Takes Down 5500 ISIS Twitter Accounts, Begins Leaking Personal Info

Anonymous has begun leaking the personal information of suspected extremists, after it "declared war" on Isis in the wake of the deadly attacks in Paris. This includes names and physical addresses.

The activist collective is assembling lists of the Twitter accounts and websites of extremists, in an attempt to have them taken down. At least one post seen by The Independent contains details including the physical address of a person it claims is an Isis recruiter in Europe.

Activists claim to have successfully had accounts and sites taken down already. Accounts associated with the group claimed that it was responsible for the removal of more than 5,500 accounts.

Twitter Officially Replaces Favorites With Likes

Twitter's "favorite" button is now a "like" button, and the star icon has been replaced with a heart. The company said today that it is replacing favorites with "likes," to be represented in its apps and on the web by red heart icons.
