These Kids In Canada Tied Coats To Street Poles To Help Homeless Prepare For Winter

Worried about what the homeless would do during the coming winter, Tara Smith-Atkins, her 8-year-old daughter, and seven of her friends gathered winter coats and tied them to street poles for the homeless people.

Smith-Atkins is already planning a coat drive for next year. She wants to get the word out ahead of time so people who need coats can track them down.

She also wants to add $5 fast food gift cards with each coat so the recipient can get a hot meal.
